He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert Metcalf, Sr. and Betty Lee Metcalf; and his brothers, Michael and Roger Metcalf. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Smith Metcalf of Marshall, NC; his children, Crystal Lynn Land (Michael) and John David Metcalf of Marshall, NC; his grandchildren, Ethan, Jessica Land, Dawson and Natalia Metcalf; and his siblings-in-law, Wanda Metcalf of Mars Hill, NC, Wilma Smith of Pikeville, KY, Cathy Ellis of Pikeville, KY, Bill Smith (Donna) of Pikeville, KY and James Smith (Leighann) of Williamson, WV. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
