He is survived by: his son James Bowens (Lori); his grandsons, James Cody Bowens, Jeremiah Bowens and Travis Lee Bowens; his sister-in-law Pauline Gunter (Arthur); and his close friend Connie Sue Proffitt. He is also survived by several extended family members and friends.
