He is survived by : his wife Irene Walton Sams; his daughter Callie Ewing; his stepson Cameron Walton; his brother Dwight Sams of Marshall, NC; his grandchildren, Nolan Walton, Luca Walton, Malachi Ewing and Mara Ewing; his nieces, Jessica and Shannon Sams; his mother-in-law Elloise Jones; his sister-in-law Angela Walton; his close friends, J. B. Bowers and Chester Keasling; and his pet Trigger.
