She was predeceased by : her parents, Benjamin Dollar and Tessie Dollar; her husband James Brent Emory; her son Derle Brent Emory (Maureen Emory); and her brother Linwood Dollar.

She is survived by : her children, Marilyn Heiser (Richard) of Edenton, NC, Joel Emory (Helen Pittman) of Black Mountain, NC and Brian Emory (Julie) of Marshall, NC. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.
