It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Linda Burkhart (Marshall, North Carolina), who passed away at the age of 71, on April 7, 2024. She was predeceased by : her parents, James Fisher and Lela Fisher of Madison County; her sister Patrica Fusco; and her sister-in-law Brenda Fisher. She is survived by : her nieces, Jennifer Caldwell, Melissa Gosnell and Cathy Burkhart; her husband Lee James Burkhart of Pittsburgh; her daughter Lisa McAbee (Dustin); her grandchildren, Jake, Eli, Isaiah and Adah; and her siblings, Janie Sutton (Gary), Clara Ramsey (Kenny), Bess Fisher, Albert Fisher and Michael Fisher (Robin). She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 at 7:00 AM and at 7:00 PM at the Madison Funeral Services (1750 NC-213, Marshall, NC 28753). Visitation was held on Thursday, April 11th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Eugene's Catholic Church (72 Culvern St, Asheville, NC 28804).

Gail was an avid member of her church choir at St. Eugene Catholic Church, sang with the Asheville Choral Society, volunteered for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and was a member of a Post-Polio Syndrome support group in Asheville.
