She was predeceased by: her parents, Elza Willard Houston and Mary Josephine Hunter Houston; and her husband Joseph C. Henderson, Jr. (J. C.). She is survived by: her children, Joseph Houston Henderson (Cindy) and Nancy Elizabeth Huffman (Mark); her granddaughters, Sarah and Hannah Henderson; and her daughter Anna McCain (Ryan). She is also survived by her caregivers and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Western Carolina Rescue Mission or Samaritan's Purse for relief efforts from Hurricane Helene that caused so much devastation in her beloved Western North Carolina.
