He was predeceased by: his parents, James Boyce and Ruby Price Brooks; his son Lanny Price of Wingate; his son-in-law Mark T. Franklin of Charlotte; and his siblings, Marseline Foard Dewitt of Charlotte, Willie Griffen Bill of Charlotte and Hilton Brooks of Wingate.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Simpson Brooks; his daughters, Sheila Broome (Joe) of Wilmington, NC and Robin Franklin of Charlotte; and his sister-in-law Joan Brooks of Wingate.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the church building fund or to Hospice of Union County, 700 W Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110.
