He is survived by: his son Samuel Butler; his stepdaughter Robin Sanford Chavis (Chris); his stepgrandchildren, Brayden Sanford (Lanie) and Baley Chavis; his sister Sandra Lilly; his siblings-in-law, Mike Bowman and Darlene Bowman; his mother-in-law Maie Bowman; and his aunt Gloria Butler.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the New Hope Baptist Church (5928 New Salem Rd, Marshville, NC 28103). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
