He was predeceased by: his parents, James Wriston Edwards and Wilma Mae Griffin Edwards; his siblings, Pete Edwards (Lib), Jerry Edwards and Doris McWhorter (Mickey); and his siblings-in-law, Pat Edwards, Bradford Baucom and Keith Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Meggs Edwards; his children, Jarrod Edwards (Kerri) and Kyra Baker (Keith); his grandchildren, Katelyn Wright (Jonathan), Chett Baker (Mckayla), Meghanne Hall (Daniel), Britton Baker (Erin) and Kelsey Baker; his great grandchild Colter Atlas Baker; his siblings, Virgie Baucom, Ruby Baucom (Rommie), Max Edwards and Judy Thomas; and his sister-in-law Gail Edwards.

Visitation was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Union Grove Baptist Church (2434 Old Lawyers Rd, Marshville, NC 28103). A burial was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 2:45 PM. A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 2nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
