He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Douglas Brandes Sr. and Frances Aileen Wall Brandes; and his grandson Shane Jenkins. He is survived by: his sisters, Frances Brandes Neal (Don) and Mary Brandes; his nieces, Jennifer Burchardt (Hunter) and Kimberly Castings (Matt); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Ryder Burchardt of Georgia, Archer Burchardt of Georgia, Chrissy Castings of Georgia and Jackson Castings of Georgia; his children, Randy Knight of North Carolina, Greg Knight of North Carolina, Tony Knight of North Carolina, Amanda Jenkins (Boyce) of North Carolina, Kenny Pace (Melissa) of North Carolina and Will Weger (Annette) of Virginia; his grandchildren, Chris Knight, Josh Knight, Tim Knight and Luther Jenkins; and his great grandchildren, Kaylan Knight and Kacie McCarver.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 30th 2026 at 2:00 PM and on Saturday, June 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
