With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Penny Jane Combes Hornung in Matthews, North Carolina, who passed away on January 26, 2026 at the age of 73. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Adrian Combes and Delora Combes. She is survived by: her husband Richard Hornung; her children, Richard (Kristin), Scott Hornung (Veronica) and Sarah Brawley (Wilbur); her brothers, Scott and James Combes; her grandchildren, Samantha Hornung, Abigail Hornung, Sarah Anne Hornung, Ryan Hornung, Luke Hornung and Mary Hornung; and her sweetheart Stella.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
