It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Van Ray Robinson (Matthews, North Carolina), born in Asheville, North Carolina, who passed away on October 27, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Van farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Van is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his mother Lela Bess Robinson (Sloan); and his siblings, Travis Robinson and Jean Robinson Embler. He is survived by: his wife Faye Strickland Robinson of Smithfield, NC; his sister Peggy Robinson Oxner of Asheville; his daughters, Gwen Robinson Stokes (Tim) of Waxhaw, Sandy Robinson List (Nelson) of Indian Trail and Lori Robinson Veith (Ron) of Charlotte; and his stepchildren, Jeff Strickland (Beth) of Charlotte and Lisa Strickland Smith (Tim) of Clayton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
