He was predeceased by: his parents, Sparks Cooper and Annah Mae Lowery Cooper; and his siblings, Bobby Cooper and Mae Frances Chavis. He is survived by: his wife Peggy Locklear Cooper; his children, Patrick McMillian of Lumberton, Stephanie C. Strickland (Johnny) of Maxton, Deborah Cooper (Johnny Clark) of Maxton, Tara Cooper (Lee Colson, Sr.) of Maxton and Carolyn Tracy Cooper (Carlis Bryant Jr.) of Maxton; his siblings, Harvey Cooper of Pembroke, William Cooper of Maxton, Jeffery Cooper of Wagram, Valerie Chavis, Linda Chavis, Diane Bullard and Daffine Cooper of Laurinburg; and his grandchildren, John Cody Strickland (Kianna), Alayse Bell, Megan Scott (Jonathan), Whitney Jacobs (Adam), Dylan Strickland, Thomas Bell (Hunter), Carolyn Locklear, Brylee Clark, Lee Colson, Jr., Patrick Delance McMillian, Trenton Keith McMillian and Johnathan Russell McMillian. He is also survived by sixteen great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
