She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Hunt and Lizzie Strickland; her husband James Willie Hunt "Jack"; her daughter Shirley Oxendine; her great great grandchild Leilani Locklear; and her siblings, Minnie Oxendine, Sharmayne Locklear, Katie Howdyshell, Lucy Hunt, Cecile Grimes, Versie Hunt, Worth Hunt, Carl Jr. Hunt, Doover Nell Hunt and G. Hunt.
She is survived by: her children, Michael Dean Hunt of Maxton and Connie Hunt of Maxton; her son-in-law Jimmy Oxendine of Rowland; and her sister Patricia Haigood of Moody, TX.. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Gospel Tabernacle Church. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Gospel Tabernacle Cemetery (234 Midway Rd, Rowland, NC 28383). A burial will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at the same location.
