He was predeceased by: his parents, Linwood Chavis and Evelyn Chavis; and his son Adrian Chavis. He is survived by: his wife Myra Chavis; his daughter Amy Chavis Gray (Rodney); his grandchildren, Ethan Gray and Sophia Chavis; and his siblings, Chris Chavis (Karen), Michael Chavis (April), Jennifer Smith (Leon), Myrtice Chavis and Gail Troy (Adam). He is also survived by relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Thompson's Funeral Home Chapel (2305 Prospect Rd, Pembroke, NC 28372). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
