We announce the death of Michael Dial of Maxton, North Carolina, born in Lumberton, North Carolina, who passed away on October 7, 2026, at the age of 68. Michael will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Dial and Susanna Dial; his siblings, Charles Dial, Larry Dial and Vivian Dial; and his great grandchild Baby Dial.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Dial (Coota); his children, Cecil Locklear of Maxton, Michael Kelvin (Marie) of Maxton, Cyran Dial (Kinsley) of Maxton, Latisha Locklear (Jonathan) of Maxton, Kimberly Dial Locklear (Joshua) of Raeford, Veranda Dial Oxendine (Christopher) of Maxton and Brianna Carline Dial of Maxton; his grandchild Jas; his siblings, Delton Dial, Lillie Locklear (RL), Phyllis Chavis and Glenda Deese (Harold); his sister-in-law Ruth; and his close friends, Bill Stubbs and James Ray Locklear. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Heritage Funeral Home (812 S Main St, Red Springs, NC 28377). A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 11th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Maxton First Assembly of God (1033 Old Red Springs Rd, Maxton, NC 28364).
