He was predeceased by: his parents, Jerry Chastain and Else Wölfe Chastain; and his brother Jerry Chastain. He is survived by: his wife Clara Taylor Chastain; his sister Carmen Jordan of North Wilkesboro; and his nieces, Stephanie Mayberry and Shanna Chastain.
