She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Burroughs and Elizabeth "Betty" Burroughs; her husband George Simpson; her nephew Gregory Grennie; and her niece Beverly Mazza.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Wiggins (Charles) of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Janice Cornish (Kevin) of McLeansville, NC and Michael Simpson of Cary, NC; her grandchildren, Heather Sanabria of Greensboro, NC, Lauren Wiggins of Apex, NC and Jonathan Wiggins of Huntersville, NC.; her great grandchildren, Hadley, Everly, Xander, Henry and Margaret; and her nieces, Gale Giblaro of Staten Island, NY, Lynn Cassidy of Sea Girt, NJ, Karin Burroughs and Kristin Reyes of Spring Lake, NJ..
