He was predeceased by: his mother Rosetta Stewart Phelps; his son Alphonza Stewart, Jr. (Butch); and his sister LaVerne Phelps Chandler. He is survived by: his significant other Mary Hooker Stewart; his daughter Cynthia Stewart White (Rodney); his granddaughters, Logan White, Carrington White and Ki'Shauna Stewart; his daughter-in-law Marquita Stewart; and his siblings, Norma Jean Phelps-Johnson (late Louis), Phyllis Ann Phelps Carlos (Russel), Linda Phelps Elmore (Larry), Qunellus Phelps Rogers (late Roy) and Marcellus Phelps (Dee). He is also survived by five great grandchildren.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels and American Red Cross.
