He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Tate and Maggie Tate (Pritchett); and his brother Wade (Jean). He is survived by: his spouse Jean Wilkerson; his children, Robin Harper (Rob) and Tony Tate (Vera); his grandchildren, Erin Lawson (Erick), Will Harper, Jay Harper and Allison Kincheloe (Chris); his sibling's children, Rhonda Tate Kernodle and Craig Tate; his siblings-in-law, Johnny Wilkerson (Wendy) and Gail Wilkerson; and his caregivers, Sarah Strayhorn and Frances Richmond. He is also survived by other loving family members, friends, and neighbors.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Mebane (301 S Third St, Mebane, NC 27302).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Mebane.
