He was predeceased by: his parents, Colin Campbell Brown and Harriett Parcells Brown; his brother David; and his daughter-in-law Rebecca Williams Brown. He is survived by: his wife Joan Norris Brown of Merritt, NC; his children, Colin Campbell Brown II (Cindy Christopher) of Raleigh, Winston-Salem, Sandra Brown Wayt of Washington, NC, Bruce MacDonald Brown, Junior of Nags Head, NC and Carol Brown Nash (Patrick) of Washington, NC.; his grandchildren, Colin Campbell Brown III (Anderson Hackney Brown), Issac Alexander Brown (Catherine Bryant Brown), Layton Hamilton Brown (Grace Robbins Brown), Sarah Staton Nash Bowers (Charles Roman Bowers), Virginia Crutcher Nash Battin (Mark Alexander Battin) and Katherine Nash Creech (Chandler Creech); his great grandchildren, Becca, Liza Brown, Lucy Battin and Forbes Battin; and his caregiver Karen Winfield.
