He was predeceased by : his parents, Ray Murray and Bernice Murray; his son Richard Murray (Sandy); his sisters, Doris Murray, Anna Ruth Roberson and Betty Arnold; and his great grandchild Hadley Pipkin.
He is survived by : his wife Rebecca "Becky" N. Murray; his children, Carla Murray Pipkin (Gerald) of Rocky Mount and Kelly Eugene Murray (Amy) of Wilson; his sister Verdie Mae Lee (Phillip) of New Bern; his grandsons, Alan Pipkin (Haley), Matthew Pipkin and Patrick Pipkin (Tiffany); and his great grandchildren, Matilyn, Weston, Ryan, Emersyn, Dawson, Carson and Chandler Pipkin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
