He was predeceased by: his mother Dollie Whitley of Nash County, NC.. He is survived by: his father Herbert Whitley; his wife Phyllis Whitley; his children, Cheryl Wallace (Russ), Melinda Killebrew and Don Whitley (Kim); his grandchildren, Morgan Gosselin (Blake), Tyler Killebrew, Kaitlyn Custy (Carson), Kelsee Johnson (Jared), Garrett Killebrew, Trey Whitley (Gabbi), Connor Whitley (Emma) and Levi Whitley; his great grandchildren, Laura Kate Gosselin, Cannon, Jackson Custy and Kit Johnson; and his siblings, Dot Jones, Linda Pearce, Chester Whitley (Mary), Margie Starnes (Lynwood), Bernice Saunders (Donald) and Denise Medlin. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the East Wake Church of God (2709 NC-97, Wendell, NC 27591). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
