With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Jo Ann Batten Medlin (Middlesex, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 16, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Batten and Gladie Boykin Batten; her husband Wayne Medlin; her son Bernie Medlin, Jr.; her grandmother Effie Boykin; and her brother-in-law Wayne Little.
She is survived by: her siblings, Linda Little, Ernie Batten (Kathy) and Angie Batten; and her nephew Brad Batten (Bailey).
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Raper Family Cemetery (11413 NC 42, Middlesex, NC 27557). A reception will be held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the SECU Hospice House of Smithfield, 426 Hospital Rd, Smithfield, NC 27577 in memory of Jo Ann.
