It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sheila Cooke Stancil of Middlesex, North Carolina, who passed away on October 8, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Douglas Bryant Cooke and Lovie Liles Cooke; her husband John West Stancil; and her siblings, Douglas Barbee Cooke and Connie Kay Wood.

She is survived by: her children, Dawn Carter Griffin (Reggie Peedin), Richard Bryant Stancil (Jessica Ruhl Stancil) and Eliza Douglas Stancil (Kevin Michael Reece); her grandchildren, Tyler Shane Griffin, Heather Dawn Griffin, William "Brooks" Stancil, Ashlynn Lovie Stancil, Aubrey Nicole Stancil, Emma Lynn Stancil and Matthew West Grady; and her great grandchild Emery Layne Carroll.
