He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Jackson Hartsell and Delette Black Hartsell; and his siblings, Rob, Jack Hartsell and Gay Irvin.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Mason Hartsell of Midland; his son Mason Hartsell (Shawn) of Midland; his granddaughters, Ali Cline (Scott) of Kannapolis and Mia Baker (Cody) of Monroe; his great grandchildren, Grady and Kayden Cline; and his sisters, Rose Wagoner, Betty Hase and Jane Bates. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus or to Bethel Church.
