She was predeceased by : her parent Shirley Houston Polk; her sister Tonya Moore; and her grandparents, Mulder, Myrtle Polk, George and Louise Houston.

She is survived by : her father H. R. Polk of Midland, NC; her husband James Kessler; her daughters, Cayley Lentz and Ashley Kessler; her granddaughter Layla Hatfield; and her brother Russell Polk.
