He was predeceased by : his parents, Edgar Jones Hamby, Jr. and Brona Rae Staley Hamby; his wife Clara Sheets Roten Hamby; his brothers, Ronnie Hamby and Gary Hamby; and his stepgrandson Jermone Hudson.
He is survived by : his brothers, Kevin Hamby (Kathy) of Millers Creek and Steve Hamby (Geraldine) of Statesville; his sister-in-law Judy Hamby of Millers Creek; his stepdaughter Cindy Powell (David) of Knoxville, TN; and his stepgrandchildren, Jody Hudson and Justin Hudson. He is also survived by six step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
