She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas "Paul" Waddell and Ethel Mastin Waddell; and her husband Colen James Roope. She is survived by: her children, Laurie Wilcox (Michael) of Viera and Gerald Roope of North Wilkesboro; her grandchildren, Brooke Wright (Dustin), Tanner Wilcox (Rachel), Tyler Wilcox (Marissa), Ella Wilcox, Drew Roope and Grey Roope; and her brothers, John Waddell (Nancy) of North Wilkesboro and Barton Waddell of Millers Creek.
