It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Vernon Dancy of Millers Creek, North Carolina, who passed away on June 6, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Bud Dancy and Nannie Brown Dancy; his wife Carol Jean Wingler Dancy; his siblings, Jack Dancy, Ralph Dancy, Hazel Combs and Marie Huffman; his granddaughter Holly Brown; and his son-in-law James Church.

He is survived by : his children, Garry Dancy (Carla) of Millers Creek and Janet Church of Millers Creek; his grandchildren, Jeremiah Church, Rachel of Ferguson, Krista Dancy of Boone, Casey Todd of North Wilkesboro and Kelly Dancy of Millers Creek; and his great grandchild Camden Todd of North Wilkesboro.
