It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Edison Walter Wirtz Jr. of Mills River, North Carolina, who passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his father Edison W. Wirtz, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Freddie Lee Austin Wirtz; his wife Celeste DeFoe Wirtz; his sister Sandra Ekburg (Charlie); his children, Jon, Ben, Kellie Wirtz Marlatt (Jeff) and Jennifer Smith Hilbert; and his grandchildren, Justin Hilbert, Porter Ring and Arabella Valadez.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Moody-Connolly Funeral Home (181 S Caldwell St, Brevard, NC 28712).
In lieu of flowers, any donations would be appreciated for the Hendersonville Rescue Mission.
