She was predeceased by: her parents, Estil Varney and Mae Varney; her first love Jack Smith; her close friend Carolyn Holt; her niece Luann Varney South; her in-law Pepper Blackburn; her cousin Pepper Blackburn; her husband Neville Montagriff; and her pet Benny.
She is survived by: her son Tim Smith (Jennifer); her grandchildren, McKenna Jane and Jake "Booty"; her daughter Rebekah "Becki" Smith Turner (Clyde); her daughter-in-law Jackie Smith; her grandchildren, TJ Smith and Jacob Merrill; her brother Eddie Wayne Varney (Faye); and her nieces and nephews, Margo Sellers (Jeff), Kurt Varney, Wayne Varney (Jan), Melody and Elizabeth "Treasure Girl" Blackburn (family: Kim Milleman, Kenneth Davidson, Amy Bevins).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Blair Road United Methodist Church (9135 Blair Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
