He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Fowler and Lois Fowler; and his grandson J. J. Collins. He is survived by: his wife Gail Fowler; his children, Scott Fowler (Sandy), Denise Fowler (Danny), Jeff Matthews (Melissa) and Ricky Matthews (Jennie); his grandchildren, Amy Calvert (Christian), Brian Fowler (Christy), Courtney Gore and Ashley Deluna (Eddie); his great grandchildren, Stella Drew Fowler, Blake Calvert, Sydney Fowler, Logan Calvert, Wrenlee Deluna and Tripp Deluna; Nia Matthews, Olivia Matthews, Harrison Matthews, Josh Matthews and Jacob Matthews. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Indian Trail (732 Indian Trail Fairview Rd, Indian Trail, NC 28079). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Gethsemane Cemetery and Memorial Gardens (1520 W Sugar Creek Rd, Charlotte, NC 28262).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Eddie's name to First Baptist Church, earmarked for the Cameron House, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
