He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Smith and Lois Faye Wilson Smith; and his brothers, Michael Smith and Jimmy Smith. He is survived by: his son Richard Smith (Sarah) of China Grove; his grandsons, Alex and Richard; his son Jason Smith (Jennifer) of Salisbury; his grandsons, Joseph and Nicholas; his son Christopher (Kadee Dowell) of Mooresville; his grandchildren, Braydon, Victoria and Haylee; his son Brandon Smith of Mint Hill; and his siblings, Robert Decker and Sheila Blakemore.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home (4715 Margaret Wallace Rd, Matthews, NC 28105). A celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 6th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
