He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Wietrzykowski and Rosalie Podchajski Wietrzykowski; his wife Julia Agritelley Wieter; and his siblings, Leonard Wietrzykowski, Francis Wietrzykowski and Pearl Wietrzykowski Chasse.

He is survived by: his children, Lita Wieter, Lynne Wieter Watson (Bruce) and Joseph P. Wieter, Jr. (Faith); and his pets, Ty and Lucy. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Joe's memory to Pets for Vets, Inc., P. O. Box 10860, Wilmington, NC 28404.
