He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Harm and Florence Bailey Frye; his siblings, John Henry, Jimmie Lee, Lily Florence Frye and William Thomas Frye; and his son-in-law John Allen Wood.

He is survived by: his wife Gail Carter Frye; his daughters, Angelia Wood Hendren (Justin) of Advance, Robin Frye McCarson (Shannon) of Advance and Melinda Frye Phillips (Eric) of Mocksville; his grandchildren, Alex Frye (Elizabeth), Jacob Wood, Joshua Wood, Aspen Phillips, Kaleb McCarson, Charleigh Phillips, Caleb Hendren, Elijah Wood, Joshua Hendren and Hope Hendren; and his siblings, Betty Jean Templeton (Frank) of Union Grove, Mary Belle Poole of Mocksville, Harold Harn Frye (Vicky) of Mocksville, Nancy Jane Coe of Mocksville and Ellen Frances Bishop (Carl) of Mocksville.
