He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Wallace Cope and Evalina Spry Cope Campbell; his stepfather Avis Campbell; his former wife Sandy Carter Cope; and his wife Linda Wilson Cope.
He is survived by: his stepmother Virginia B. Cope; and his siblings, Roger Cope (Joy) of Greenville, Charles Cope (Carolyn) of Lexington, Vickie Smith (Danny) of Mocksville, Kathy Morris of Mt. Airy and Angie Holden of Calabash. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
