Abel of Salisbury; his adoptive daughter Karess Arnold of Mocksville; his grandchildren, Jarvis Jacobs, Zaiden Jacobs, Maddison Brooks, Tiana White, Khaleah Scott, Keiari Hogue, Justin Brown, Jr. and Alani Allen; his siblings, Wanda Foster (Joseph) of Cooleemee, Joyce Ann Bryant of New York and Merrell Hogue (Emily) of Cleveland; his aunts, Evalena Patterson, Betty Hogue and Frances Fowler; and his close friends, Dave Everhart and Marvin Sullivan.
