He is survived by: his wife Joyce Thomas-Wilson; his children, Eddie Thomas, Aaron Wilson, Timothy Wilson, Lakesha Black (John), Pamelia Wilson-Black (Andre) and Barbara Wilson-Gray (Christopher); his grandchildren, Tamla Wilson, Johnathan Black of Andre, Jasmine Black, Jehon Black, Tyrone "Dante" Black Jr., Tiffany Black, Jacques Black, Tamara Black, Cameron Black, Tasia Black and Kristyn Gray; his sisters, Emogene Ashcraft (James) and Elizabeth "Rusty" Wilson; and his close friend Roy B. Robinson. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.

Viewing was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Smith's Funeral Home (604 Salisbury St, Wadesboro, NC 28170). Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the Wingate Community Church of God. A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:30 PM at the same location.
