We are sad to announce that on October 21, 2025, at the age of 81, Atha Lowery Hinson of Monroe, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Lowery and Atha Starnes Lowery; her brother Jimmy Lowery; and her sibling's children, Kenneth Hinson and Jackie Purgason.
She is survived by: her husband Laurin Kenneth Hinson; and her sibling's children, Eric Hinson (Davanna), Bennett Hinson (Cindy), Bryon Hinson (Karen), Ronald Hinson, Alan Hinson, Roy Lowrey, Margarett Patterson (Randy) and Suzy Lowery.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (7002 Pleasant Hill Church Rd, Marshville, NC 28103). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 25th 2025 at the New Hope Baptist Church (5928 New Salem Rd, Marshville, NC 28103).
