With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Staton (Monroe, North Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 21, 2025 at the age of 91. In the echoes of fond remembrance, may a sense of peace be found, knowing that the memories held dear will continue to shape and inspire her loved ones, keeping Barbara's spirit alive in the hearts and actions of family and friends alike. While her presence may be gone, her impact lives on in the kindness shown to others and the joy found in the ordinary moments of life.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Deese and Etta Deese; and her children, Linda Mareth and Joe Griffin. She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Benton (Kitral), Tex Griffin (Sheila) and Billy Griffin. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, nineteen great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 PM at the Solid Rock Baptist Church (2021 Claude Austin Rd, Monroe, NC 28112). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery (1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
