He was predeceased by: his parents, Ray B. Hinson and Flossie Helms Hinson; and his siblings, Charles David Hinson, Harry Sylvester Hinson, Dorothy Louise Foster Griffin, Bernice Keziah and Kathy Mae Phifer.

He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Lynn Snipes Hinson; his daughter Kristin Holloway (Calvin) of Monroe; and his grandchildren, Anna Jacumin and John Luke Jacumin. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
