We announce the death of Brandy Rae Getson of Monroe, North Carolina, born in Charlotte, North Carolina, who passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 44. Brandy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her father John Bent. She is survived by: her mother Tammy Mitchell (Greg); her child Ashe Newman; her partner John-Lee Presley; her stepfather David Caughell (Gay); her sisters, Jennifer Taylor (Randy) and Sarah Casteline (Danny); her nieces and nephews, Meridith, Alyssa, Madison, Mya, Lauren, Kody and Noah; and her great-nieces and great-nephews, Cheyenne, Alekai and Jace.
