He was predeceased by: his mother Nora Mae Whisnant; and his brother Barry Whisnant. He is survived by: his wife Judy Walker Whisnant; his daughter Kimberly "Kim" Malkin (Joey Bishop); and his grandson Michael Malkin (Ashley Dorso).
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Gordon Funeral Chapel (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
