It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Della Sherrin Smith of Monroe, North Carolina, born in Fort Knox, Kentucky, who passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Sherrin and Nellie Sherrin; and her former husband Henry Ray Smith. She is survived by: her children, Michael Smith (Tammy), Cindy Hartis (David) and Melanie Halcom (Scott); and her grandchildren, Jennifer Stegall (Garrison), Sean Smith, Caleb Hartis (Cecily), Jacob Hartis (Samantha), Stephen Hartis, Jordan Hawkins (Kathleen), Samantha Hilton and Mason Halcom. She is also survived by 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lakeland Memorial Park (1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
