She was predeceased by: her parents, James Albert Helms and Thelma Broom Helms; her husband L. A. "Bill" Simpson; and her brother Monte Helms. She is survived by: her children, Mark Simpson (Lynn) of Monroe, Jan Plattenberger (Gary) of Wesley Chapel and Beth Fisher (Bobby) of Monroe; her grandsons, Adam Simpson of Chapel Hill, John Plattenberger of Wesley Chapel, Dan Plattenberger of Denver, CO, Tom Fisher of Columbia, SC, Robert Fisher of Boston, MA and Charles Fisher of Trussville, AL; and her great grandchildren, Austin Plattenberger and William Simpson.
