He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Hosey Whitley and Mary Blake Trull Whitley; and his siblings, Paul Whitley (Jimmie), Bill Whitley and Ruby Whitley Funderburk (Tom).
He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Horne Whitley; his children, Jamie Whitley, Lori Duncan (Patrick) and Tonya Dixon; his grandchildren, Trevor Whitley, William "Tate" Duncan and Maryblake Duncan; and his sister-in-law Leola Whitley.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Gordon Funeral Chapel (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112). A burial will be held on Thursday, May 1st 2025 at the Lakeland Memorial Park (1901 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112).
