He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin Austin and Louise Honeycutt Austin; his wife Nancy Walden Austin; and his brother Ken Austin. He is survived by: his children, Lisa Wood (David) and Mitch Austin (Teresa); his sisters, Phyllis Baucom (Keith), Deloris Croxton (Tom) and Karen Carpenter; his sister-in-law Anne Austin; his grandchildren, Brandon Belk (Brittany), Zach Belk (Sara), Corey Austin (Marissa) and Kyle Austin (Laurel); and his great grandchildren, Austin Belk, Paisley Belk, Easton Belk, Allie Belk, Emberlynn Austin, Ava Austin, Collins Belk, Lettie Austin and Andie Austin.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Gordon Funeral Service (1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28110). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the High Hill Primitive Baptist Church (2225 Concord Ave, Monroe, NC 28110). A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the same location.
