It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Frederick Leon Simpson (Monroe, North Carolina), born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on April 28, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick Leon Simpson Sr. and Christine Haigler Simpson; his sister Louise Simpson; his daughter-in-law Patti Tillman Simpson; and his granddaughters, Katie Scott Simpson, Mollie Michele Simpson and Kylie Christine Simpson.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Huntley Simpson; his sons, Scott Simpson and Murray Simpson (MiTia Tran); his grandchildren, Leah Elizabeth Simpson, Matthew Christopher Simpson and Benjamin Alexander Simpson; and his sister Morie Austin. He is also survived by sons will be available to receive friends and relatives.

Because of Covid concerns, the family will not hold a visitation before the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church of Monroe, 109 Morrow Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
