He was predeceased by: his parents, Dock T Baker and Hattie Baker; his wife Ellen; and his siblings, R. C., Gene, Aaron, Smith Baker, Sara Baker, Louise McClain, Grace Riggins, Ruth Yarborough, Willie Eudy, Betty Pressley and Dorothy Brooks.
He is survived by: his children, R. Nelson Baker (Paula) and Sandra Benton Baker; and his grandchildren, Kristi Baker (Shannon), Michael Benton (Rochelle), Julie Baker (Scott) and Phillip Benton (Katie). He is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
